Library 2.0 and the Technology Petting Zoo

At a MOBAC workshop I attended last Friday, I saw a wonderful presentation by Jessica Goodman and Sarah Harbison of the Santa Cruz Public Library System on the new breed interactive, information-sharing web technologies that are taking libraries (and librarians) by storm! Fun, playful, innovative and collaborative, the technologies of Web 2.0 have so many exciting applications for our organizations. I am really glad to see that Goodman and Harbinson's presentation was so enthusiastically received by my colleagues in MOBAC, and that we are moving full speed ahead and embracing the possibilities for how new web technologies will further revolutionize our library service models.
